FOTONNA is seeking dedicated individuals to serve on its all-volunteer, working Board of Directors who bring a strong commitment to peace, justice, and nonviolent activism in solidarity with the Palestinian people. In addition to passion for the mission, Board members must be prepared to contribute time, expertise, and hands-on effort to sustain and grow our work. Persons interested in possible Board membership will be invited to submit an application based on the following description. Watch this page in early 2026 for the coming questionnaire.
Ideal candidates will meet the following qualifications:
- In-Depth Knowledge of the Palestinian-Israeli Conflict
- A well-informed understanding of the historical and current dynamics of the Palestinian-Israeli conflict, including the impact of occupation, settlements, and international law.
- A demonstrated commitment to justice and human rights in the region.
- Connection to the Tent of Nations (TON)
- Preference will be given to individuals who have visited the Tent of Nations in the West Bank and have met with Daoud Nassar and the Nassar family.
- Firsthand experience with the farm’s mission and resilience under occupation is highly valued.
- Activism and Advocacy Experience
- Engagement in advocacy or activism supporting Palestinian rights, peacebuilding, or related human rights work, either individually or through organizations.
- Public speaking, organizing, or educational outreach on these issues is a plus.
- Nonprofit Governance and Leadership Skills
- Familiarity with nonprofit governance, including fiduciary duties, board responsibilities, and strategic planning.
- Understanding of the nonprofit funding landscape and experience with fundraising, grant writing, or donor engagement is desirable.
- Previous Board and/or Nonprofit Experience
- Prior service on nonprofit boards or leadership roles in nonprofit organizations is strongly preferred.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with fellow board members, advisory council members, and volunteers.

- Cultural sensitivity, integrity, and willingness to listen and learn.

- Professional Skills and Capacity to Contribute
- As a working board, we rely on the skills and active participation of our members. We are particularly seeking individuals with experience in one or more of the following areas:
- Legal expertise
- Accounting and financial management
- Website maintenance and administration
- Communications (strong written and verbal skills)
- Political advocacy at the local, state, or federal level
- Writing, editing, and graphic design
- Organizing and managing national speaking tours or public education events
- Willingness to actively engage in hands-on work between meetings is essential.
- As a working board, we rely on the skills and active participation of our members. We are particularly seeking individuals with experience in one or more of the following areas:
- Meeting Attendance
- Board members are expected to attend and actively participate in the majority of board meetings.
- FOTONNA’s Board meets monthly, and consistent attendance is critical to the success of our collaborative work.
- Financial Contribution
- All members of the Board of Directors are expected to make a personally meaningful financial contribution to Friends of Tent of Nations each fiscal year.
- No fixed amount is required, but contributions should reflect a serious personal commitment to FOTONNA’s mission.
- Donations may be made in a lump sum or through installments by the end of the calendar year.
- In-kind contributions (e.g., professional services, personally covered travel expenses) may count toward this expectation, subject to approval by the Board Chair.
- All giving is confidential unless the Board member wishes to be publicly acknowledged.
