Phone Call Script:

If you are able to speak with someone,

  1. identify yourself as a constituent, providing your address
  2. give the reason for your call and your requests (see script below)

If you are not able to speak with a person leave a message to include the following:

My Name is _______ and I live at ________ (your address).

I am calling regarding the denial of the Nassar family’s land registration by the Israeli Civil Administration’s land registration committee on October 8th, 2026.  The family has been engaged in a 35 year long non-violent, legal struggle to register their 100-acre farm located in Area C outside of Bethlehem in the West Bank: as is required by Israeli law.

I am asking that you contact the US Department of State about the Nassar land cases ( 3714/2 and 3715/2) and communicate your dismay about this decision and ask them to advocate with Israeli officials for the following:

  • The family’s right to access and work their land without fearing encroachment from settlers or the military, and
  • their right to have their legally documented farm land registered without newly introduced and impossible to meet conditions being imposed,

(If you wish, include something here about your connection to the family and their inspiring work)

I would like to provide additional information about this situation, and ask that you have the foreign policy staffer in your office contact me at (insert your email or phone number here) so that I may do so.

Written Script:

If you choose to email your Congress person, and don’t have a personal contact in the DC office, we suggest you navigate to their website, and use the contact form there to send a message.  If you have the email contact for a foreign policy staff member, we suggest that you email them directly.

Here is a template that you can adapt to communicate with them.

Dear Senator/Congressman:

Introduce yourself very briefly including that you are a constituent and your location

I am writing regarding the denial of the Nassar family’s land registration by the Israeli Civil Administration’s land registration committee on October 8th, 2026.  The family has been engaged in a 35 year long non-violent, legal struggle to register their 100-acre farm located in Area C outside of Bethlehem in the West Bank: as is required by Israeli law.

The committee rejected the family’s application requiring that the Nassar family must register not only its own 427 dunams of land but also all surrounding land belonging to neighboring owners, encompassing approximately 1,000 dunams in total.

This is impossible for them to do as the owners of the other 573 dunams are unknown to them.

I am asking that you contact the US Department of State about the Nassar land cases (#, 3714/2 and 3715/2) and communicate your dismay about this decision and ask them to advocate with the Israeli government for the following:

  • The family’s right to access and work their land without fearing encroachment from settlers or the military, and
  • their right to have their legally documented farm land registered without newly introduced and impossible to meet conditions being imposed.

If you’re able to take action, please let us know by emailing info@fotonna.org. This will help us ensure we can continue engagement with these offices as we work toward a successful resolution of this case.
